I cannot tell you how many people have asked me to 'pod' a chef... Whether that's because it's a job we all see in the public domain a lot, with celebrity chefs; or simply because we all know it to be a hard and pressurised jon... Maybe both.
... Either way, I had been on the hunt for a chef for weeks and weeks, and it was only a chance encounter/chat at my local (favourite) restaurant and with one of the owners (a woman, obvs) where she said, 'oh, you should chat to Lisa, she has done A LOT!'.
(Quick intro and I managed to badger Lisa into sitting down with me quite quickly... One thing I am pretty good at now is convincing people to talk to me. Thankfully!)
And my gosh is Lisa's career epic. I say 'wow' and 'gosh' a lot in the chat because I mean it?!
Given it was a late decision before starting college, shocking her family considerably, Lisa has managed and curated her career brilliantly. Clearly very talented in the culinary arts, combined with an amazing work ethic, positive approach to working (and the ability to stand A LOT of misogyny from bosses and colleagues); Lisa has traveled the world with her job, cooking for celebrities and royalty, and working in the most exotic of locations... And always one phone call at a time.
I LOVE hearing about real passion success stories like this; Lisa is an inspiration to us all.
Enjoy.
