As I am finding more and more with TWW, I met Emily almost by accident at a Christmas social event. We got chatting and when I asked what she did for work (as I do!), I was chuffed to bits to hear it was Nannying. Because this was a role someone had requested I look into (they got in touch via this very website and this very link).
So yet again, this journey - this path - is somehow leading me to the people I need to speak to.
Of course Emily doesn't just do nannying... Her passion and dedication to the job/role and the topic in general is meaning that she's aiming way above and beyond that. Because there's a gap - a MAHOOSIVE WHOPPING one - for the right/fair/decent amount of care and support available for new mums and working mums, or indeed working dads.
And in truth, Emily and I talked lots more than I have released in this chat; about the pressures of being a new mum and about the psychological effects that surround it - let alone then trying to work as well. I talked to Emily a lot about my own personal experiences and how hard I found it. However, as I mention in the chat, that is a MUCH bigger subject, so I have decided to only focus on Emily's role for this chat, and then get Emily back on for a separate, dedicated 'Break Room' chat about 'mummying' later. And I'll get you all involved when I do, so that we can all talk/share and benefit from Emily's independent, non-judgemental advice and guidance.
Enjoy.
