43: Meet Marie Helen: A SENCO Teacher & Assessor, and a passionate ADHD Coach

Updated: Oct 15

Marie Helen got in touch with me about the same time I had referenced/touched-on my own experiences with ADHD in my first ever video chat - about me!

It was almost weird, however, as Marie Helen says, there are no coincidences. And even though I don't personally suffer with ADHD (or do I?), my experiences come from being on the receiving end, and living with someone - in my view - (quite chronically) with it, although fully undiagnosed and as far as I'm aware, not interested in any form of diagnosis.

So Marie Helen's own journey with ADHD and indeed working in the field of ADHD touched a nerve with me personally; but more than that, and as we all now know, it's a BIG topic of conversation right now for millions of people worldwide. The diagnosis of it (maybe even the mis-diagnosis of it), the treatment of it (do the drugs work or don't they?), and indeed the ongoing support for people who live with it (or rather the lack of support) are all big topics of conversation online and on social, so it's clearly a job/role that is in high demand.

And Marie Helen confirms this, and even though she is active on socials, and posts and shares information regularly, she doesn't have to do much marketing - people really need this support and this help and they are proactively searching for it... Which means if you are considering adding a string like this to your (already) professional bow, then do it - your efforts will not go to waste.

Now we barely scratch the surface of the world of ADHD in this chat, because it's a chat about Marie Helen, not the neurodivergence of ADHD, however, Helen's social pages and website have loads of great information on them, so do go and check her out.

Enjoy.
