AND SHE'S ONE OF MY BEST FRIEND'S IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!
It's almost been painful getting the requests to 'pod' a teacher, knowing that I have the bestest, mega-star teacher as a Bestie... But also knowing that she lives (for now) on the other side of the world.
Which doesn't mean she was a no; BUT, because I'm really am committed to doing all TWW pods in person, it put me in a real quandary. Do I break that rule and Google Meet/Teams pod her?
Thankfully it was a quandary I realised I could get out of with the fab Leah, only for the timings of Leah's pod to then align with Sophie being home/in the UK for 4-weeks; meaning I could actually, for real life pod her in person, too. Yippee!
Ergo One very happy Chops, and A MEGA TEACHER WEEK !!!
Hopefully you've already listened to Leah's brilliant pod (if not, get on it), but what's great about Sophie's pod, is that like Leah, Sophie has bossed her teaching career thus far. But in addition, 4-years ago she scratched an itch she'd had for a long time, and went to teach abroad. Moved her whole family to Thailand!
And when I say teach, she did teach, and was a Head of department (here in the UK and out in Thailand), but was quickly bossing it so much (in Thailand) that she got promoted to an even bigger Head, so in fact now doesn't teach much at all.
Sophie has LOTS of great intel about working abroad; what's it's like and what the packages you get are, so if you're a teacher that's got the same itch, do give Sophie a listen. And if you're currently doing something else altogether, but have always fancied teacher, please do give both pods a listen... and indeed our teacher-esque Break Room chat, which goes live on Sunday.
Enjoy.
Chops x
