I could have chatted to Katie for hours.
I didn't, because the woman is DAMN busy and I'm grateful that she could even spare me the time I got with her. But her life story was fab, and just full of real highs, real lows and tonnes of learned lessons (lots of which I've actually cut out, purely because they need more discussion - and their own podcast!)... It was such a privilege to hear it all, as it is with all the women I chat to... I'm so very grateful for this amazing opportunity.
Katie was the 4th 'Maven' I podded during my trip over to Norfolk (see my last post about Nicola for more info on them), and from hers I drove home; my mind full of all 4 women, their stories/journeys, and just how amazing women are (not that I ever need reminding about that!).
... And women are amazing, because we're just so multifaceted... There's so many parts to us, so many gifts we possess... And I'm sorry, but that isn't the same with men. Men are simpler (which can actually be a VERY good thing!), and they're more linear in their life journeys and their daily execution. Women are not, and listening to Katie's career story from huge event work through to admin/PA support, to running a property business, and then setting one up on her own; you see this displayed brilliantly.
Katie is not one thing; she never has been, and she never will be; and that's just fine. Yes it means a squiggly journey (as we see with lots of our TWW pods), but it's an evolving journey with one firm goal: To find true happiness and peace in whatever she does.
I personally believe this goal gets louder the older we (women) get, and with the wisdom we acquire. If you read up about the spiritual significance of it, it's called the 'crone' stage, which to general passers by sounds awful, and does indeed have terrible connotations associated with it, however, the spiritual truth is that it signifies a time of great wisdom and maturity... Something Katie exudes.
Enjoy.
