60: Meet Bryony: A super-cool music journalist and gig-guide business owner

Updated: Oct 15

Bryony has embarked on a few careers in her working life; from a primary school teacher, to a post-natal nanny and support worker; to now owning and running a gig guide business with her musician husband, and achieving her dream job - yep her DREAM JOB - as a music journalist.

When I sat in front of Bryony, in her cool house, and with her effortlessly cool style and approach, it was hard to believe that she was pretty shy and unassuming as a child, even though to University. It was only at University that she found her 'tribe' and realised who she truly was. Which is a good example for the whole nature/nurture debate, isn't it?

Bryony is now in her late thirties, has 3 kids still in primary school, and is now FINALLY stepping into her true self. She's combining her deep love and passion for music, with her work and career, and she is literally glowing from it.

And I think it's all come at exactly the right time for her, because even though she's got a long way to go before she's 'in demand' writing for NME and Rolling Stone, she's now mature enough and wise enough to know what she needs to do/what she needs to work on to get better, and she is VERY determined to be better.

I CANNOT WAIT to see where this journey leads her, and I think it's brilliant that even later on (not that she's old at all), you can start again, and land that dream.

And what a dream it is.

Enjoy.
