Annabel got referred to me by another lady I'd podded and I'm so glad she did.
Having 'dabbled' in the dating world myself in the last couple of years, I KNOW the problem Annabel is tackling first-hand... And like others, I could do a whole podcast on just that.
So I was fascinated to know how Annabel had got into this area, and how she's tackling what is, a global 'dating' and 'matching' problem right now. The lack of coupling (and sheer volume of sexless people) is a hot topic in some scientific circles, and even some governmental circles.
... And of course, Annabel got into this world, because over the past 15-years (since her divorce) she's tried every form of dating herself; and even though she can't seem to find her Mr Right; Annabel realised how passionate she was about trying to fix this dreadful problem, and in doing so, help others. Plus how bloody good she is at meeting and connecting others.
So after a drunken chat with a friend one night, circa a year ago, Norfolk Cupid was born.
And it's going well... So well that Annabel needs to expand to wider territories (beyond Norfolk)... Add more people to her 'pool', so to speak. She's even taken up working at her local farm shop to further aid her 'pool' and she's added a few farm shop customers already!
Doing work and earning money via something you are truly passionate about is a depressingly rare gift, and something Annabel realised much later in life. Prior to that she was the eternal good girl, doing what was expected of her and towing the line.
... But choosing 'us' and what makes us really happy can be as scary as it can be frowned upon by society. Thankfully there are enough of us doing it now, and shouting about it, to dispel that mentality and encourage others along the same path.
