I had been asked to 'pod' a Nutritionist a while back, and if I'm honest, I couldn't decided who to pick to approach... There are so many great ones around.... So I simply left it be for a while.
And then Rose popped into my FaceBook feed via the women's group I'm involved with and I simply knew she was 'the one'.
Thank god I was running late when I get there (and therefore had to keep things 'on track'), because I could have chatted to Rose for HOURS!! Not only is she a highly experienced Nutritionist, with a really interesting and varied career, but she's now specialising in female health and female 'cycle' management.
... Her whole ethos and the topic in general was as much catnip as it was pandora's box to me.
Because it is a HUGE subject that affects all girls and women, and something that STILL barely gets any airtime. Women (and girls) are still required to just put up, shut up, and suffer in silence.
Rose firmly believes in food as medicine, and particularly, food as a super-power to support women throughout their monthly cycle, and indeed throughout their aging cycle. She also believes women's cycles can tell us so many amazing things about ourselves, if we listen to them; and if we reframe them to be an insight, rather than a menace and a chore.
So much to unpack with Rose, and we barely even scratch the surface in this chat.
Enjoy.
