One thing that isn't really covered in the final edit (editing chats is so damn hard?!), is the fact that Caroline has (late) self-diagnosed ADHD... Which as we mentioned (but again, isn't included) means that when channelled = absolute hyper-focussed super power. However, when unmanaged = something incredibly self-destructive and in Caroline's case, caused at least one case of severe burn-out.
And I guess I raise this, because for a job/role like Caroline's, where you need to be hyper-focussed and hyper-organised, it's likely that to do such an job, and to be very good at it (as Caroline is), you're probably on the same kind of spectrum. Ergo, this could be a GREAT career for you.
But either way, what Caroline emphasises with all of her varied (and sometimes bonkers mad) jobs, is her willingness to get stuck in, stay positive and do the best job she could do, whether that's working behind a bar, scrubbing pots, or organisation multi-million-pound event expos around the world. And because of that, nearly every employer Carline's had, has wanted her to stay on and progress within that company.
... And even though such a positive 'can-do' attitude is waaaaay easier said than done, I've heard similar things from many other podcasts guests: To look for the positives in things - in your work - rather than the negatives; if nothing more than to improve the quality of your own life. Because we work A LOT, and for most of us, that isn't going to change, which means the only thing we can, for sure change, is ourselves and how we view and interact with our work.
Anyway, preachy Chops is going to stop talking now and simply say...
Enjoy.
