Did somebody say 'Power Shoot'?

Updated: Oct 24

I did.. I said it... In fact I didn't just say it, I did it.

And it was TERRIFYING... UTTERLY TERRIFYING!

... But I did it for for 3 reasons:

  1. To herald the dawn of a new era for This Woman’s Work, although as I should now say, TWWork.

  2. To represent the growth both the brand and I have gone through in the past 12-months… The learning we’ve been through on our path to true self... And what a bumpy road that has been.

  3. But most importantly, it represents strength and confidence. Owning your power… Me owning my power.

One of the things I realised quite a while ago, although didn't feel able/equipped to address it, is that I have spent the last year (since I launched TWW), hiding in the shadows, afraid to show up online, even if it benefitted the brand and its growth trajectory. I said I was doing it because I didn't want the brand to be about me... It was about other people - other women. Which is true.

But with my big girl pants on, I've hidden due to the fear most women feel about showing up online… The fear of appearing too ‘confident’.

But I've decided that as of today, that goes (out the window) for me.

I am a proud woman and a mother of 2 in my mid (ish) forties and I’ve worked hard to get where I am… Career-wise and indeed physically.

And I’m not going to hide away to perhaps make others feel more comfortable. Nobody should.

So the fact that I got some half decent shots from my shoot (thanks to many people), as terrified as I was, proves that anyone can do something like this.

YOU can do something like this!

Chops x

PS. In case you haven't noticed yet, we've launched a new 'Support Hub' on the website. It's pretty small right now, but it has BIG dreams of being packed full of helpful career content for you to consume.

Listen - and watch - this announcement from the (Chops's) horses mouth...
